Williams Creek Management completed a critical stream bank stabilization project for a confidential utility client located in Plainfield, Indiana. This project was commissioned to ensure the long-term protection of a critical utility pole, which was immediately threatened by aggressive fluvial erosion, and to enhance the stability of a section of stream running near a private assisted living facility.
The scope involved extensive hard armoring of the bank in addition to the specialized installation of instream rock structures. Due to the necessity of working in the stream bed to place these structures, the project required a total pump-around—a process that blocks the stream flow and uses a large pump to divert the water 24/7 around the work zone. This allowed the crew to work in the dry while preventing sediment discharge downstream.
