Williams Creek Management completed a project for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) at Ogle Lake in Indiana’s Brown County State Park. The project was commissioned to address erosion at the end of a parking lot, which posed a safety hazard and threatened the water quality of the lake.
The Williams Creek Team installed FlexMat, an articulated concrete block mat, and Class 2 Rip Rap. FlexMat was selected for its ability to provide a stable and permeable surface that protects the shoreline from erosion while allowing for natural vegetation growth. The project required close collaboration with IDNR to ensure the solution met both ecological and recreational needs.
This project demonstrates Williams Creek’s expertise in erosion control and the team’s ability to work effectively with government agencies. The erosion control measures will protect the parking lot, ensuring continued access to the popular recreational lake for the community. The improved water quality and enhanced aesthetic value of the park will contribute to the overall health of the ecosystem and the enjoyment of visitors for generations to come.
