The Hagerstown transmission line project presented a massive logistical and access challenge for our confidential utility client. Classified as a Ground Line Treatment (GLT) project, the entire worksite required 100% matting to ensure safe and compliant access, demanding a large logistical mobilization for our Greater Cincinnati Compliance group. Compounding this challenge, the execution timeline coincided with a period of significant storm work, necessitating long-term coordination and resilience across nearly half a year.
Williams Creek Management mobilized over a thousand access mats to the site in one mobilization effort. Execution required constant, sophisticated coordination with numerous stakeholders, including internal utility crews and multiple transmission contractors, to ensure schedules were met despite the extended duration and frequent weather interruptions. The high level of communication and problem solving provided by our team directly resulted in establishing a strong working relationship with the client's Project Manager, who praised our efforts in defining project solutions.
The success at Hagerstown was foundational, leading Williams Creek to become a preferred vendor for the client within the Ohio and Kentucky service area. This project is paramount to highlight because it demonstrates our proven ability to manage large-scale access logistics under challenging, sustained conditions and, more importantly, confirms that our execution and proactive communication efforts translate directly into securing preferred vendor status and long-term client trust.
