This project marked one of the largest and most complex restoration efforts completed by Williams Creek Management in partnership with a long-term confidential utility client. The scope involved a full transmission line rebuild and reroute adjacent to the Camp Atterbury military base, prompted by the base’s expansion and the need to retire the existing line located on federal property.
Williams Creek was directly selected by the client to execute the environmental and restoration components of the project due to the technical demands and scale. The work encompassed extensive access planning and construction, including matted roads, wetland matting, gravel drive and road installation, and secure laydown yard construction. Environmental best management practices (BMPs) were deployed across the entire corridor.
The restoration effort covered nearly every service area Williams Creek offers: wetland restoration, turf stabilization, decompaction of agricultural fields, and custom site maintenance for a newly established staging yard. Security infrastructure for the yard was also provided.
The project’s complexity, from base coordination to environmental protection to infrastructure delivery, highlighted Williams Creek’s end-to-end capability to support high-stakes utility infrastructure within sensitive and restricted landscapes.
