Williams Creek aided in the successful implementation of a new 138kV transmission line in southern Indiana. This newly installed transmission line navigates through the challenging hills and valleys of southern Indiana, while also traversing the various topographical features common to the region including agricultural fields, forest, wetland, creeks, legal drainages, and pasture ground. The goal of the project was to successfully guide property owners, energy providers, and earthwork/line contractors through the project duration to remain environmentally compliant and violation free. This project encompassed a total transmission span of 2.9 miles, 3.3 miles of access installation, and over 11 acres of restoration, including a 0.5 acre wetland.
Williams Creek was able to safely and sufficiently provide access solutions and sediment control through the installation of numerous temporary construction entrances, access routes including grading, environmental controls, and access matting in a timely manner to keep the project on schedule for line crew access.
Upon completion of construction activities, Williams Creek was able to complete all decompaction activities, including agricultural field ripping, site access grading and restoration, wetland restoration, and private landowner restore requests for project release by the following growing season.
