Since 2009, Williams Creek has been involved with the Parkview Regional Medical Center as the health care provider in Fort Wayne, Indiana continues to expand its 260 acre campus. Williams Creek completed the installation of the Low Impact Development approach throughout the site allowing for placemaking through stormwater management while furthering Parkview’s sustainability commitments.
Since the initial installation efforts of the innovated stormwater systems, Williams Creek has continued to provide professional preservation services for the many constructed wetland basins, vegetated swales, wet ponds and rain gardens, and restored natural areas throughout the site. These Green Infrastructure (GI) elements manage stormwater while providing aesthetic entrances to the overall site, improve pedestrian circulation and enhance wildlife habitat. Stormwater management areas incorporated native woody and herbaceous planting and a paved pedestrian path, the Lugar Family Park, and passive woodland restoration areas.
Over 200,000 live plants, trees and shrubs were installed throughout these areas. Williams Creek continues to partner annually with Parkview as part of its campus sustainability initiatives to preserve the aesthetic and functional quality of the system.
