Alcoa Green Infrastructure

Alcoa Green Infrastructure Systems

Project Type: Design/Build |  Owner: ALCOA Inc.

Williams Creek Management Corporation provided all direct labor and equipment needed to construct the Green Infrastructure (GI) technologies associated with the parking lot linear bioretention basins, perimeter constructed wetland basins, and upland prairie buffer areas including all engineered soil amendments, native seed and plant installation, native tree and shrub installation, and temporary erosion control measures. Williams Creek Management Corporation worked closely with the lead contractor completing the traditional excavation, parking lot reconstruction and paving, and pervious sidewalk and gutter construction. The implementation of these techniques further improved the operation and performance of the on-site stormwater treatment mitigation facility constructed to comply with special conditions of an NPDES permit related to observed groundwater contamination being leached into the sewer system, and subsequently improved the ultimate quality of stormwater discharging to Elliot Ditch.
